Hello everyone! Sam here of Casale Crafts, and I am so excited to be hosting Furls CAL this month! So, here is the most basic statement you’ve ever heard, I LOVE Autumn. I certainly don’t think I am alone in that sentiment either haha. It may be cold, but it sure is cozy! Sweaters, warm drinks, movie nights, bonfires, and most of all…. pumpkins! What could be more autumnal and cozy than this Pumpkin Sweater that I have designed for this month's CAL? Not only can you consume pumpkin this season, but you can wear it too!

Sleeve Ribbing Foundation

In C1, CH 11

Row 1: SK 2 CH (counts as 1 HDC), 1 HDC into the next stitch and each stitch across. CH 2 (does not count as a HDC and won’t for the rest of the pattern) and turn your work.

Row 2: 1 BLHDC into each stitch across, CH 2 and turn

Repeat Row 2 until you have 27 ( 31, 35, 39, 43, 47, 51) rows total of it is the same length to line up with the edge of the sleeve

Line the ribbing up with the wrist end of the sleeve and sew into place.

Sewing the sweater together

To begin sewing all of the pieces of your sweater together, place a stitch marker in the center stitch of your sleeves, and a stitch marker in the center part of the bodice shoulder (where you sewed the front and back panel together)

Line the shoulder stitch marker up with the sleeve stitch marker so that you can center your sleeve placement. Sew the sleeves onto the bodice as shown below.

Next you will fold your sweater so that the sleeves are folded in half and front and back panel are laying on top of each other, and the entire sweater has the inside out.

Sew the edges of the sleeves together and down the bodice stopping at the front and back panel ribbing if you wish to have a slit effect on the bottom. Do this one both sides and weave in your ends and your sweater is done!!
