Free Crochet Sweater Pattern- Ridgeway Sweater

Free Crochet Sweater Pattern- Ridgeway Sweater

Posted by Lorene Eppolite on

This Sweater is called The Ridgeway Sweater because of its ridging and texturized design. I've wanted to design a quick and easy off the shoulder sweater for a long time so when Furls Crochet contacted me I knew this was the most opportune time. I hope you all enjoy this pattern as much as I have designing it.

ABOUT OUR DESIGNER

Hi, my name is Miranda of Crazy4CrochetMomma and I have been crocheting since I was 10 years old, taught by my grandmother because I was eager to learn. I got back into it when wanted to make beautiful creations for my first born. If you've been on any of my social media platforms, you will notice that I am a big color fan. I can't help but share all the colors. They truly brighten one's mood.

PART ONE

The waistband of the sweater.

We will be working on the band and working in rounds which makes this sweater even more simple and fast to whip up! I know I love when making garments the less sewing together I have to do the better! We will go until the sleeves and then part 2 will be the sleeves.

Row 1: Start by chaining 5, SC in 2nd ch from hook, and each ch across, ch 1 turn. (4)

Row 2: SC in same st, SC in BL of next 2 stitches, SC in last stitch, ch 1, turn. (4)

Row 3: Repeat row 2 until you reach (64)(72)(80)(88)(96) rows. (4) At the end of the designated row bring both short ends together forming a circle and sl st both ends together, do not fasten off, making sure seam is on the inside and RS is facing you, proceed to next instructions for the body of the sweater.

Round 1: Ch 1, HDC evenly 32,(36)(40)(44)(48) stitches around, sl st to sp between ch 1 and 1st HDC of the round. (This gives it a cleaner join).  (64)(72)(80)(88)(96)

Round 2: Ch 1, HDC3rdLOOP in each stitch around, sl st to sp between as you did above and throughout pattern.  (64)(72)(80)(88)(96)

Round 3: Ch 1, HDC in each stitch around, sl st to sp between.  (64)(72)(80)(88)(96)

Round 4: Ch 1, HDC3rdLOOP in each stitch around, sl st to sp between. (64)(72)(80)(88)(96)

Round 5-15(19)(23)(27)(31) Repeat rounds 3 & 4. Next we will work on the arm holes. (64)(72)(80)(88)(96)

Round 16,(20)(24)(28)(32): Ch, 12,(14),(16),(18),(20), sk 12,(14),(16),(18),(20) HDC3rdLoop in next 20,(22),(24),(26),(28), Ch 12,(14),(16),(18),(20), sk 12,(14),(16),(18),(20), HDC3rdloop in last 20,(22),(24),(26),(28) sl st to sp between.  (64)(72)(80)(88)(96)

Round 17(21)(25)(29)(33): Ch 1, HDC in each stitch around, sl st to sp between.  (64)(72)(80)(88)(96)

Round 18,(22)(26)(30)(34): Ch 1, HDC3rdLoop in each stitch around, sl st to sp between.  (64)(72)(80)(88)(96)

Round 19-23,(23-27),(27-31),(31-35),(35-39): Repeat rounds 17(21)(25)(29)(33) & 18,(22)(26)(30)(34), FO, weave in ends and proceed to second part of sweater, the sleeves.  (64)(72)(80)(88)(96)

PART TWO

We are working on the sleeves and these are also worked in a round. The sleeves are worked with a bit of puff to them with a cinching look around the forearms to the wrists. This gives a very cute elegant look for this off the shoulder sweater. It is paired beautifully with a lace bralette!

Reattach to the back bottom right of the arm hole, make sure the sweater is facing RS out.

Round 1: Ch 1, HDC 33,(36),(39),(42),(45) evenly around, sl st to sp between. (33)(36)(39)(42)(45)

Round 2-14,(16),(18),(20),(22): Ch 1, HDC in each stitch around, sl st to sp between. (33)(36)(39)(42)(45)

Round 15,(17),(19),(21),(23): Ch 1, HDCDEC, HDC, *HDCDEC, HDC,* repeat around, sl st to sp between. (22)(24)(26)(28)(30)

Round 16,(18),(20),(22),(24): Ch 1, HDC in each stitch around, sl st to sp between. (22)(24)(26)(28)(30)

Round 17-26,(19-28),(21-30),(23-32),(25-34): Ch 1, FPHDC, BPHDC, *FPHDC, BPHDC,* repeat around sl st to sp between, at the end of designated row FO, weave in ends. Repeat all steps above for Left arm hole. (22)(24)(26)(28)(30)
