Free Crochet Ornaments- Candy

The eighth pattern in our Twelve Days of Christmas Crochet Ornaments is the Wrapped Peppermint Candy Ornament.



Candy (make two)
Rnd1: Starting in the middle of your peppermint with white colored yarn sc x 6 in a magic ring, or ch x 2 and do 6 sc in the second chain from your hook (6)

Rnd2: Inc x 6 (12)

Rnd3: [Sc, inc ] x 6 (18)

Rnd4: [Sc, inc] x 9 (27)

Rnd5: [Sc x 2, inc] x 9 (36)

Rnd6: Sc x 36, fasten off leaving a long tail on the second peppermint candy that you make. You will be using this long tail to sew them together (36) 

 

End of Candy Wrapper
SPECIAL NOTE: Before beginning your candy wrapper edges we need to sew both pieces of our candies together. You can use dressmaking pins to hold both pieces in place while sewing them together. Sew the pieces together by sewing through the stitches in the last rnd of both candies together. Before sewing your candy completely shut stuff your candy firmly. 

Row1: Insert your hook into a stitch on the edge of your candy, where you'd like your wrapper end to begin. Sc x 4 (4)

Row2: Turn, ch, inc, sc x 2, inc (6)

Row3: Turn, ch, inc, sc x 4, inc, fasten off (8) **Repeat for the other end of your wrapper** 


Assembly
Sew on a mouth and eyes. Sew on the red peppermint swirl. Weave in all ends and trim them.
